Select the 10-hour Essential Elements / Core Competency Courses link if you are a registered SUDRC counselor, and CADTP has provided you with specific subjects that you must complete toward being awarded certification as a SUDCC counselor
Select the 20-hour GLOBAL Bundles link if you are a CADTP-registered SUDRC counselor, who has already completed all 315 hours of education and submitted an official transcript to CADTP, and need to complete a 20-hour Bundle for your registration renewal
SUDCC Certified Counselors
Select the 20-hour GLOBAL Bundles link if you are a CADTP-certified SUDCC counselor, who is seeking to complete two 20-hour continuing education (CE) bundles to satisfy the CADTP 40-hour CE requirement for certification renewal
HELPFUL TIPS:
- Most SUDCC Certified counselors will complete GLOBAL Bundles ONE and TWO to satisfy their 40-hour CE renewal requirement with CADTP.
- Completing GLOBAL Bundles ONE and TWO also satisfies the 6 hours of supervisory training required for SUDCC counselors with a CS (Clinical Supervisor) designation.
Renewal Information for SUDCC Certified Counselors
CADTP requires completion of 40 hours of CE courses, which includes “Proof of 40-hours of completed continuing education (CE) training within the 2-year renewal window” and must include “3 hours of Ethics and Confidentiality continuing education (CEU).”
All SUDCC certifications with a CS (Clinical Supervisor) designation must also include “6 hours of supervisory training by a CADTP-approved CEU Provider.”
Breining Institute offers five 20-hour GLOBAL Bundles to healthcare professionals, and completion of any two of the 20-hour GLOBAL Bundles will satisfy the CADTP 40-hour CE requirement.
Each of the five GLOBAL Bundles includes TAP 21 curriculum and other topics related to providing substance abuse counselor treatment and education services.
Each of the five GLOBAL Bundles also includes 6 hours of Professional Ethics and Confidentiality.
Completion of the GLOBAL Bundles ONE and TWO have been accepted by CADTP to meet the 40-hour CE requirement and the 3-hour ethics/confidentiality minimum requirement.
Completing GLOBAL Bundles ONE and TWO satisfies the CADTP 40-hour CE requirement and the 6 hours of supervisory training required for SUDCC counselors with a CS (Clinical Supervisor) designation.
