Breining holds formal CAADE Accreditation
Breining Institute is pleased to report it is part of the distinguished class of educational institutions that have earned formal accreditation from the prestigious California Statewide Accreditation Committee of the California Association for Alcohol / Drug Educators (CAADE).
CAADE describes its accreditation guidelines as “rigorous” and that, having met these guidelines, “accreditation by CAADE distinguishes your students as among the most highly trained in the state.”
“We are especially pleased with this accreditation recognition,” said Michael J. Breining, President,” because it was earned from CAADE, a long-time and widely-respected leader in the setting of high standards for the addiction counseling profession.”
Fully accredited provider of Career Track Addiction Studies
This achievement as a “fully accredited provider of career track addition studies” is described by CAADE as “a major accomplishment,” and signifies that Breining’s 45-unit Addition Studies Certificate (ACS) Course “represents the latest advances in the field of addiction counseling grounded in evidence-base practice.”
Breining’s ASC Course satisfies the formal education requirement for California’s most sought-after entry-level substance use disorder counselor certification, the CAADE Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor (CATC) Credential.
As the accreditation announcement from CAADE further explains:
“Your students will be eligible to take the CATC exam upon completion of your program. Students who pass the CATC exam advance to CATC-i (intern) status, and qualify to apply for the basic CATC credential upon completion of 2240 supervised internship hours (inclusive of 250 practicum/fieldwork hours) as required by CAADE. The CATC certification process is less complicated and less expensive than alternative credentials offered in California and offers entry into the CAADE Tiered System.”
Breining has been a State-approved higher education provider since 1986
Breining Institute has been a State of California-approved educational institution since 1986, with its current State-approval from the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE).
We have worked diligently to provide quality higher education, training, testing and certification for addiction counselors throughout the United States, have awarded professional credentials to addiction professionals in 47 U.S. States and 14 countries, and we appreciate this important recognition by CAADE.
