Before the application is considered complete, we will need to receive all of the applicable documents requested. If you are unable to upload the documents using the Online Application Form, send the documents to us by email.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Eligibility Checklist<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">You will need to document the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>CURRENT CERTIFICATION OR LICENSE<\/b><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\">Must hold current healthcare professional license or certification from a State-approved or recognized, or nationally-recognized, licensing or certification agency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>EDUCATION: 30-HOURS of ONLINE CO-OCCURRING DISORDERS CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSES<\/b><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\">Complete any two of the online Co-occurring Disorders<span class=\"s1\"> Continuing Education Course Bundles (for a total of 30 hours) from Breining Institute<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Three years full time or 6,000 hours clinical experience in general alcohol and other drug \/ substance use disorders (AOD\/SUD) counseling<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Have a qualified employer representative complete and submit the online <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breining.edu\/index.php\/1702241604-2\/clinical-experience-form\/\">Clinical Experience Verification Form<\/a> in order to submit the information directly to Breining Institute<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Acceptable Substitutes for Experience Requirement<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The minimum clinical experience required is 2,000 hours (or 1 year)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Acceptable substitutes for up to 4,000 hours of experience may include a degree. <\/span><span class=\"s1\">A degree in addiction studies or the healing arts may substitute as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">AA or AS degree may substitute for 2,000 hours of clinical experience<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">BA or BS, MA or MS, or Doctorate degree may substitute for 4,000 hours of clinical experience<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Renewal Requirement<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li4\"><span class=\"s1\">Every two years<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li4\"><span class=\"s1\">Continuing Education (CE) requirement every two years is 30 hours<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Verify Credential<\/strong><br \/>To verify whether someone has been awarded the CCDS Credential from Breining Institute, select the following link to the International Certified \/ Credentialed Counselors (CCCo) database: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccco.us.com\/wordpress1\/credential-verification\/\">International CCCo Verification<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Registered Service Marks<\/strong><br \/>These credentials are registered service marks of Breining Institute, and may only be used by professionals who have been awarded these credentials by Breining Institute:<br \/>\u201cCertified Co-occurring Disorders Specialist\u201d and \u201cCCDS\u201d credentials: Service Mark Reg.
