  TOM NEWELL, a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist in private practice since 1984, is a faculty instructor and mentor. Mr. Newell’s counseling expertise includes individuals, couples, families, chemical dependency, interventions, adult survivors of abuse, and multiple diagnosis. He has served as Outpatient Program Manager for the Sonoma County Department of Health Services Division of Alcohol, Drug and Tobacco Services; as Chemical Dependency Therapist for St. Mary’s Hospital, San Francisco; as a Clinical Supervisor for Phoenix Program in Petaluma (CA); an Outpatient Coordinator for Alcohol Rehabilitation Corporation in Ukiah (CA); a Clinical Supervisor/Family Program Coordinator for Azure Acres Rehabilitation Center in Sebastopol (CA); and a Mental Health Worker for Mesa Vista Hospital in San Diego. Mr. Newell has been an assistant professor at Santa Rosa Junior College and Sonoma State University, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Ohio University in 1977, and earned his Master of Arts in Counseling from Sonoma State University in 1982.
