SHIRLEY D. ROWLAND,
formerly an Assistant Program Manager for the Sierra
Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, is a faculty instructor and mentor. She is also an instructor at
University of California - Davis in its Alcohol and Drug Studies program, and serves as a
Board Member in Training and Education for the Commission for Alcoholism and Drug
Counselors Education Program. Ms. Rowland is a CAADAC/ICADC-certified counselor who has
provided counseling education and services within a number of environments, including the
East Yolo Information Center as a Program Director for Alcohol and Drugs; Millhouse
Treatment Center; Somerset Convalescent Hospital; and Serendipity Psychiatric Treatment
Center. She is the author of the book Looking for Normal, and has served as a
counselor in drinking driver programs for Breining Institute and the Safety Center. Ms.
Rowland has received training in Anger Management; earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from
California State University, Sacramento; her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Addictive
Disorders from Breining Institute; and earned a certificate in Agency Leadership from
University of San Francisco. |
