  PHILIP D. OSTLUND, M.D., who has been practicing medicine for over 40 years, is a faculty instructor and mentor. Dr. Ostlund served as a Staff Physician and Staff Psychiatrist at Agnews State Hospital in San Jose (CA); served as a consultant to the ward staff at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Psychiatric Service; served as Chief of Visiting Staff for the psychiatric service at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View (CA); served as Program Chief of the five-county Community Mental Health Service for El Dorado, Mono, Alpine, Amador and Calaveras Counties; and served as Director of In-patient Psychiatric Service at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. For the next twenty years, Dr. Ostlund was with Kaiser-Permanente Medical Group, eventually appointed as Chief of the Department of Psychiatry at Kaiser’s Santa Teresa Medical Center in San Jose (CA). After retirement from Kaiser, he then served several years as a Staff Psychiatrist for the State of California Department of Corrections, Parole Division. Dr. Ostlund earned his medical degree from the Medical School at University of Washington, Seattle, in 1953, then practiced aviation medicine at U.S. Naval Stations in Florida, Virginia and California.
