Eligibility

Current addiction professional certification or license

3 years
general AOD experience

1 year
MAT counseling experience
(can be included in AOD experience)

Exam or Education

Less than 3 years MAT experience, must complete 40-hour
MATC Course
or
If 3+ years MAT experience, you may
"test-in" by passing comprehensive
MATC Exam


	Both the 40-hour MATC Course and the comprehensive MATC Exam will be available on-line after the "Grandparenting" option is over

Fees

$76 Application fee

$160 for 40-hour MATC course,
or
$160 for comprehensive MATC exam

$75 renewal every 2 years
(no additional renewal fee if you hold other Breining Institute certifications)

Grandparenting (GP) option

For a limited time


>	2 yrs MAT counseling experience
>	3 yrs general AOD counseling
>	Pass $79 on-line MATC-GP exam
>	Submit complete application

"Grandparenting" option is available to candidates who pass the MATC-GP exam and submit a complete application by
December 31, 2010

		Q: Which certification agencies are acceptable for the "current addiction professional" certificate requirement? A: There are many acceptable agencies located throughout the United States, as long as they are accredited, State-approved or nationally recognized. The drop-down list below includes many of the agencies, but there may be others that are acceptable. If your licensing or certification agency is not included on the above list, please contact us for a determination, by sending an e-mail to us at College@Breining.edu that includes the following: 1) full name of the agency, 2) the web site address of the agency, and 3) which license or certificate that you hold from that agency.
