  JOE GANAWAY, who has served as Executive Director of the Sacramento Black Alcoholism Center (SBAC) since 1985, is a faculty instructor and mentor who has taught in the areas of Cultural and Lifestyle Differences in Chemical Dependency, Physiology of Illegal Drugs, Physiology of Alcohol, and Relapse Issues and Counselor Burn-out. Mr. Ganaway has also served as a Recovery Home Manager, a Medical Technician and the Sacramento County Detox Center, and as a Counselor at the Black Alcoholism Center. Mr. Ganaway earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from University Without Walls, Sacramento, in 1983, and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor.
