The Master of Arts degree in Hypnotherapy and Holistic Health requires a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Counseling Addictive Disorders, or other closely related discipline which
includes those 45 units listed for the Addiction Specialist certificate program, 45 units
of Graduate level course work, a 5,000+ word Thesis, and at least 40 hours of individual
and/or group therapy:
- Bachelor of Arts degree in Counseling Addictive Disorders,
or closely related discipline, including those 45 units listed for the Addiction
Specialist certificate program;
- Forty-five units (450 hours) in Graduate level coursework
which may include some or all of the following:
- Instruction in the history of hypnosis
- Techniques of client assessment
- Suggestibility testing
- Induction and dehypnotization technique
- Deepening techniques
- Principles of posthypnotic suggestion
- Contraindications for hypnosis
- Treatment planning
- Self-hypnosis training
- Administration and recordkeeping
- Law and ethics
- The limits of hypnotherapy practice
- Supervised internship of 300 hours
- Herbology
- Yoga and Yoga therapies
- Biofeedback theories and techniques
- Neuro-linguistic programming
- Meditation and prayer techniques
- Sound, music and art therapy
- Progressive relaxation training
- A 5,000+ word Thesis of original work;
- A minimum of 40 hours of individual and/or group therapy,
over a period of at least 4 months, within a years time before or after enrollment
in the Master of Arts degree program.
