GARY A. BLANK, Ph.D., a Clinical Psychologist in private practice
since 1969, is a faculty instructor and mentor. Dr. Blanks practice has emphasized
individual psychotherapy, as well as family, couples and group therapy; psychological
testing, including intellectual and emotional assessment; supervision of pre-and
post-doctoral psychologists as a prerequisite for state licensing; and mediation work with
attorneys in divorce and child custody matters. He has served as a consultant to IBM
Corporation; Peninsula School (Menlo Park, CA); Reading Disability Clinic, Whisman School
District (Mountain View, CA); and as Staff Clinical Psychologist for Stanford
Childrens Health Council of the Mid-Peninsula (Palo Alto, CA). Dr. Blank has several
published works, including "A Psychotherapeutic Model of Cancer Therapy," The
Management of Cancer, Bradford Foundation, 1980; a collaboration with Richard Evans,
Ph.D., on Conversations with Carl Jung, Bantam, 1967; and "Effects of
Psychiatric Language and a Therapeutic Program of Patients Self-Concepts," Journal
of Counseling Psychology, 1967. He has also made a number of presentations to
professional groups, including the First and Second International Conferences for the
Management of Cancer (Washington, D.C., and San Francisco, CA, respectively); the
Association of Transpersonal Psychology; and to the Association of Humanistic Psychology
in Colorado and California. Dr. Blank is a member of the American Psychological
Association and the Council for the National Register of Health Providers in Psychology.
He earned his Master of Arts in Psychology from University of Houston in 1965, and his
Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from University of Houston in 1967. |
