CHARLES MOORE, M.D., the Subregional Chief of Mental Health and
Chemical Dependency Services for Kaiser Permanente, and a Partner and Senior Physician for
The Permanent Medical Group, Inc., is a faculty instructor and mentor. Dr. Moore has also
served as the Medical Director of Kaisers Chemical Dependency Recovery Program;
served on the Emergency Department Staff at the Dallas VA Hospital; maintained a private
practice of General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Addiction Medicine in Santa Cruz
County; has served as Clinical Instructor at Southwestern Medical School; and as Clinical
Assistant Professor for University of California, Davis, Medical School. He has extensive
research experience, including as Principal Investigator for The Permanente Medical Group
Project involving A Comprehensive Data Collection and Information Management System for
the Chemical Dependency Recovery Programs; and as Associate Investigator for the
National Institute of Drug Abuse Grant involving the Effect of Day Hospital vs.
Traditional Outpatient Program on Drug Treatment Effectiveness. Dr. Moore has
extensive professional community involvement, including the Physician Well-being Committee
for Sacramento Kaiser Permanente Medical Center; as Chair of the Chemical Dependency Best
Practice Committee, TPMG, Inc.; as Physician Evaluator for the Medical Board of California
Physicians Diversion Program; as Invited Faculty for the University of California, Davis,
Departments of Psychiatry and Family Practice "Identifying Substance Abuse;" on
the Education Committee of the California Society of Addiction Medicine; and as Invited
Faculty to the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Moore
earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology, with Honors, earned his medical degree from
University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1983, and completed his internship and
residency at University of Texas Health Science Center Affiliated Hospitals. |
