CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY INTERVENTION SPECIALIST (CDIS)

   

  Earning a Certificate as a Chemical Dependency Intervention Specialist requires enrollment in the Bachelor of Arts degree program and successful completion of 9 units (90 hours) of Upper Division courses (included within the Bachelor coursework), which includes:
  • Introduction to Intervention
  • Advanced Communication Skills
  • Intervention Process
  • Intervention Role Play
  • Intervention Case Study

This coursework and eligibility for the CDIS is included within the regularly scheduled courses in the Bachelor of Arts - Addictive Disorders degree classes, and there is no additional charge to students enrolled in the Bachelor program.

Individuals wishing to participate only in the CDIS program must be qualified to commence the Bachelor degree program, and must be fully enrolled.   For information relating to participating in the CDIS program only, contact the Dean of Students.
