Lisa Knowles

We are pleased to announce that Breining Institute student Lisa Knowles is The Justin Foundation Scholarship award recipient for Fall 2009.

Ms. Knowles earned her Masters of Arts degree from University of California, Irvine, and her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Santa Barbara, and is currently enrolled in an addictions studies course at Breining Institute.
 
The Justin Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation committed to assisting individuals and families affected by drug abuse and to furthering formal education and certification of addiction recovery counselors.  The Foundation's goal is that every alcohol and drug rehabilitation treatment facility be a safe place for those in need to heal from the disease of addiction.

The Justin Foundation Scholarship is awarded to individuals seeking to obtain their certification as a drug abuse counselor . California residents are considered first. Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Each applicant is considered on his or her merits, on a case-by-case objective and non-discriminatory basis. Commitment to sobriety, academic scores, community involvement and financial need are a major factor in determining scholarship awards.
