Codes
of Ethics |
|

|
|
Addiction professionals certified by Breining Institute -
located in over 40 US States and 14 countries - are required
to adhere to professional and ethical standards, which are
articulated within their respective Codes of Ethics.
All of the Codes of Ethics are included within the Renewal
Packet, and must be reaffirmed by each certified
professional every time that the credentials are renewed
(every two years). The respective Codes of Ethics are
located within the Renewal Packet at the following sections:
-
Section 4, page 3:
Code of Ethics for Registered Addiction Specialist
(RAS), RAS Intern (RASi), RAS Level II (RAS II), Masters
Level - RAS (M-RAS), Certified Women's Issues Specialist
(CWIS) and Certified Co-occurring Disorders Specialist (CCDS)
holders.
-
Section 5, page 4:
Code of Ethics for Clinical Supervisor Credential (CSC)
holders.
-
Section 6, page 5:
Code of Ethics for Master Counselor in Addictions (MCA)
holders.
-
Section 7, page 6:
Uniform Code of Conduct for all registered and certified
counselors providing counseling services in California.

Filing
a complaint |
|
|
|
|
You should
file a complaint about a
professional who has been certified by Breining
Institute if you believe that the
professional acted improperly, but not just because
there is some disagreement between you, or you believe he or
she did a poor job.
If you believe that a Breining
Institute-credentialed individual breached
his/her respective Code of Ethics,
you must file
the complaint using the
form available at the link below.
When you make your complaint, you
should supply photocopies of any documents that relate to
the asserted problem.
A complaint against a registered or
certified individual is taken very seriously, and the
complainant must certify - under penalty of perjury and
potential civil and criminal liability - that the statements
made in the complaint are true.
Anonymous and/or undocumented complaints will not be
recognized.
