California certification deadline: April 1, 2010

CALIFORNIA EMPLOYERS: 30% of your staff who provide "counseling services" must be Certified as of April 1, 2010.

First in California: Breining Institute was the first certification agency nationally accredited and approved by the State of California ADP.

	Employer deadline
	As of April 1, 2010, 30% of staff must be Certified. - The rest of your staff must be Registered when they start providing "counseling services" - The RAS Credential from Breining satisfies certification requirement - Registering with Breining satisfies registration requirement

	State ADP enforcement
	ADP has issued a notice to employers that they will be cited for non-compliance if staff providing counseling services are not properly registered, certified or licensed. - "Counseling services" include screening prior to admission, intake, assessment at time of admission, treatment planning, conducting or documenting counseling activities. - Here is a link to ADP's notice:
