Opened and
headed up by Breining Institute alumnus Brian W. Jackson,
Dr.AD, Addiction
and Intervention Professionals (AIP)
is an outpatient treatment
facility located in St. Augustine,
Florida, that serves adolescents and adults
struggling with chemical abuse and dependence.
While working
on his Doctorate in Addictive Disorders (Dr.AD) Degree at
Breining, one of Dr. Jackson's research papers, Financial
Cost of Addictive Disorders, was published in the
Journal of Addictive Disorders, an on-line publication
that includes academic articles primarily from Breining
graduate students and some outside invited addiction
professionals.
Dr.
Jackson's Financial Cost article was also
subsequently selected for inclusion within The Clinical
Supervisor: Training Manual for Clinical Supervisor
Competency in the Addiction Treatment Setting (2010),
which includes articles from addiction professionals
throughout the United States, and was funded by the Breining
Research and Education Foundation with the goal of
developing a meaningful training manual to assist addiction
professionals become clinical supervisors, or to improve
their skills in clinical supervision.
Dr.
Jackson's Doctoral Dissertation related to compulsive
gambling addiction, and he has been certified as a Forensic
Addictions Counselor (FAC) and Medication-Assisted Treatment
Counselor (MATC) by Breining Institute, and as a Certified
Addiction Professional (CAP) and Certified Gambling
Addiction Counselor (CGAC) by the Florida Certification
Board.
